General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, (U.A.E.)

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments is the body in charge of directing Islamic related affairs within the United Arab Emirates.

The Authority's main activities, according to their literature, include: providing spiritual counsel and guidance; spreading the Islamic culture and promoting religious awareness; managing and supervising mosques; organising and controlling matters related to pilgrimage; preparing and qualifying imams and preachers in coordination with academic institutions in UAE an abroad; granting licenses related to religious activities; supervising the Holy Koran memorization centres and other religious institutes;organising and supervising conferences, seminars, competitions and other related activities; reviewing publications and recordings; managing Islamic endowments and advancing endowment related activities.
