Blind Faith: A short documentary film about the blasphemy law in Pakistan

News article, posted 01.22.2011, in:

This is a must see documentary on the blasphemy laws, made just a few days before the assassination of Salmaan Taseer.

The penal code of 1860, carried 4 sections. Laws related to offences against religion were enacted to diffuse communal tension in the multi-religion society in the subcontinent. Anyone voluntarily disturbing religious ceremonies was punishable. General Zia-ul-Haq’s military government passed an ordinance in 1980 to insert Sections 298 a,295 b,295 c,298 a b c known as the blasphemy laws.

While the PPP government makes efforts for the relaying of this documentary on PTV, it is our duty as PPP supporters to spread the videos out to our friends and people in our network.
