Presidential hopeful Abdel Moneim Abouel Fotouh wrote on Twitter Wednesday that he plans to submit his application to officially join the presidential race on Thursday.
Abouel Fotouh, a former Muslim Brotherhood leader, said that he had secured enough endorsements to officially run for president.
According to the law, independent candidates must collect either 30,000 voter signatures or the endorsements of 30 sitting lawmakers.
He added in the online statement that he would announce his electoral program after submitting his nomination papers to the Presidential Election Committee, adding that it would make him the first presidential candidate to announce a comprehensive program after the revolution.
“And I offer it for dialogue," he wrote.
