The real Islam was defined by the prophet with: "To believe that there is no god except God and that Mohammad is his prophet, to pray, to give zakah or alms giving (the giving of a small percentage of one's income to charity), fasting Ramadan (is an Islamic religious observance that takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar; the month in which the Quran, according to tradition, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad), and the pilgrimage if a person can afford it". So, every person, either male or female, believes in God and in his Prophet (Mohammad), is a Muslim.
