Ayotallah al-Sistani Ruling on Muslim converts divorcing non-muslims

Question: There is a married Christian couple. The husband converted to Islam and he wants to divorce his Christian wife. Should he be paying her mahr based on the fact that she is Christian and in her religion there is no payment to the wife upon divorce? If so she would be entitled to nothing. 

Answer: She gets nothing. 

السؤال: زوجان نصرانیان اسلم الزوج ویرید ان یطلق زوجته النصرانیة فهل یلزم بمهرالمثل لها لان النصارى لا یسمون مهرا في عقد الزواج ام یلزمها بدینها فلا یدفع لها شیئا ؟ الجواب: لیس لها شيء
