Ayatollah Saanei: Confessions under Pressure Are Void, The Police Ought Not Attack People

Over the recent days, we have witnessed universities and dorms being attacked, students being beaten to death, and many of our dear children being arrested and imprisoned. Official reports confirm some 20 deaths and more than 1000 persons imprisoned. Also, we have witnessed several prisoners' confessions in monopolized media [of the Islamic regime]. Such confessions, at least because of confessors' being in prison and under special circumstances, are void of any credibility based both on the Shari's and the law. Lest this tyranny, deceits, and lies frustrate our people from pursuing their legitimate rights and gaining power over their own fate. Perseverance is the key to victory...

I would also like to bring to the attention of the armed forces, those who are supposed to be guardians to this people, that no order from anyone would justify infringing the people's rights. This is an irreparable sin.
