Islam and Nation Building

This section highlights the different historical periods that have led of the institutionalization of Islam in the nation building  from independence to the collapse of the Mubarak regime. It shows  that Islam has always been a central component of the national identity and political institutions and therefore will continue to play such a role in the new Egypt.
